Ms. Mei received her J.D. degree from School of Law, Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA. She is a U.S. registered patent attorney and acts as U.S. Counsel for Shanghai International Intellectual Property Services (“SHIIPS”). She is admitted to practice law both in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
She speaks, reads and writes Chinese. She has extensive experience in both US and Chinese patent prosecution. She was invited to lecture on U.S. Intellectual Property Law in the prestigious China Academy of Social Sciences in Shanghai. She was a guest lecturer on China Patent Law at School of Law, San Clara University.
She speaks frequently in the meetings and seminars on the topics of Chinese patent law practice. Recent seminar engagements includes the seminar on “Perfecting and using IP Rights in China” at Silicon Valley Chapter of the Licensing Executive Society sponsored by Townsend and Townsend Crew LLP, “Building and Enforcing IP Values in China” at the third Annual Intellectual Property Series Conference sponsored by World Research Group and Second Patent Strategies Conference sponsored by Legal IP, IQPC and Kenyon & Kenyon LLP.
Presently, she is collaborating with European and other US patent attorneys on a book on the Chinese Patent Practices as a part of comparative studies on US, European, Chinese and Japanese Patent Strategies.

Education and Experience:
Mr. Cao graduated from Dong Nan University with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a veteran patent agent in the Mechanical Engineering field. He started his patent career in 1985 when Chinese Patent Law was implemented. He has prosecuted more than one thousand patent applications which were issued as patent. He also has extensive experience in invalidity proceedings.
